Every sip of this gingerbread beer-tini is sweet when you rim your glass with honey, brown sugar, and crushed cookies. Add a toasty note to this gingery cocktail with stout or brown ale, courtesy of Tavour. (If you have coffee liqueur, that'll give it an extra punch.)

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp molasses

  • 1/2 oz ginger syrup (available at grocery stores, or make your own by simmering 3/4 cup sliced ginger with 1 cup sugar and 1 cup water)

  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon

  • 1/8 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1 ginger cookie

  • 1/2 oz honey

  • 1 oz chilled espresso or cold brew coffee (substitute coffee liqueur for an extra kick)

  • 2 oz chilled brown ale

  • 1/4 tsp brown sugar (plus more for the rim of the glass)

  • coconut shavings (optional)

Directions

  1. Crush a ginger cookie on a plate, and mix in a sprinkle of brown sugar (if desired).

  2. Pour honey onto another small plate, and rim your glass by dipping it into the honey, then the ginger cookie/brown sugar mix.

  3. Pour the beer and espresso or coffee into a cocktail shaker or tall stirring glass with a few ice cubes.

  4. Gently stir in the molasses, ginger syrup, brown sugar, and cinnamon.

  5. Strain into the rimmed cocktail glass. Garnish with an additional ginger cookie and coconut shavings, if desired.
