I Discover the Best Amazon Finds, and These Are the Spring Essentials I'm Buying, Starting at $8

Displaying freshly-cut flowers, cooking spring recipes, and spending time in the great outdoors are all things I’m looking forward to this season. And to prepare myself for all of the above, I’m planning to do some long-overdue shopping on several affordable Amazon finds for my home, kitchen, and wardrobe.

Growing up in South Florida, you can say I thrive in the springtime; I’m all about flowy dresses, cooling products, and hydration. My warm-weather finesse paired with my professional knowledge as Real Simple’s Amazon shopping expert cultivated this curated list of items I’m eyeing ahead of the season. The Drop Women's Maya Silky Slip Skirt

A breezy skirt is one of my favorite pieces to wear with a T-shirt, and I’m loving this silky option from The Drop. I actually have this exact same skirt in black, but I’m opting for this fun pink color this spring. Made with a polyester and elastane blend, the satin-like skirt drapes nicely on my body and feels cool, making it an ideal transitional piece to wear between seasons. I appreciate the skirt’s elastic waistband that holds it in place and the midi hemline that gives me enough coverage while sitting in the park or walking up subway steps.  

Terro Fruit Fly Trap

Fruit flies pester me the most during warm months, so I replaced my hand-swatting technique with these Terro fruit fly traps that work surprisingly well. The traps have a non-odorous lure that captures flies and keeps them there. I can even see how many via the small window on the side. The apple-shaped design is cute to display on counters, but it’s also small enough to hide behind kitchen appliances or decor. I also like that it comes in a pack of four, so I have backup for the summertime. 

Carote 11-Piece Nonstick Cookware Set with Detachable Handles

I’m a big fan of home-cooked meals, which is why I’m always on the lookout for great kitchen appliances and cookware. I’ve seen this clever Carote pot and pan set around, and I’m finally taking the plunge to buy one for myself. The detachable handle immediately caught my attention; I can snap it onto the pan while cooking stovetop, transport the cookware to the dining table, remove the handle to serve food in (what looks like) a classic dish. It even comes with lids, so I can snap off the handle, cover the pan, and stick it in the refrigerator.
