Cold pizza is cool and all, but have you ever reheated your leftovers so perfectly that they tasted almost better than the night before? If you’ve had failed attempts in the past, a few simple tricks could be the secret to how you reheat pizza moving forward. If you’re not in a rush, there’s no better way to heat your ‘za than to toss a slice or two into a preheated pan in the oven. But, if you need a quick lunch or dinner before you head out the door, your trusty microwave or a non-stick pan might be the best option. And of course, an air fryer is an exceptional appliance to enhance your leftover pizza.

So, before you take a bite out of that cold slice from the refrigerator, spend a few extra minutes using one of the below options for how to reheat pizza. We promise, you’ll be blown away by how crispy, cheesy, and tasty your pizza will be, even a day or two later.

How to Reheat Pizza in the Oven

If you have the time, reheating pizza in the oven is always a foolproof method with minimal clean up. In fact, all you’ll need is some aluminum foil, a baking sheet, and any additional toppings you might want to include.

  1. Start by preheating your oven to 350 degrees, and then line a baking sheet with aluminum foil.
  2. Once the oven is preheated, pop the baking sheet into the oven for 5 minutes to get it nice and hot (Trust us. This extra step will ensure your pizza is crispy).
  3. Then, carefully remove the hot baking sheet from the oven, add your pizza, and place the baking sheet back into the oven for about 10 minutes. (It’s a good idea to check on it after 5 minutes to make sure the cheese is bubbling, but not burning.)
  4. After 10 minutes, remove the pizza from the oven and serve.

How to Reheat Pizza in the Microwave

While the microwave is the quickest and most efficient way to reheat anything, it can often make your food soggy and not as appetizing. But there’s a trick to achieving a delicious, crispy piece of pizza in the microwave, and all you’ll need is a cup of water.

  1. Place a slice of pizza on a microwave-safe plate and put it in the microwave.
  2. Then, fill a cup of water halfway and place the cup next to the plate with the pizza on it.
  3. Heat the pizza on high for about 20 to 30 seconds, or until it reaches your desired temperature. The water will help crisp up the crust, while the cheese melts to perfection.
  4. Remove the pizza from the microwave and serve.

How to Reheat Pizza in the Air Fryer

It shouldn’t come as a surprise that your air fryer can transform your leftovers into irresistibly fresh pizza (and you can do it in no time). Depending on how big your air fryer is, and how many slices you’re heating up, you may want to work in batches.

  1. Place a slice or two of pizza on parchment paper in the middle of the rack and turn your air fryer to 375 degrees to bake.
  2. Bake the pizza for about 1 to 2 minutes. Cooking times may vary, but it shouldn’t take longer than just a few minutes to thoroughly reheat your pizza and give it a crispy crust.
  3. Remove the pizza from the air fryer and serve.

How to Reheat Pizza on the Stove

This is another quick and mess-free method of reheating pizza that is often overlooked.

  1. Grab a non-stick pan and place it on the stove over medium-high heat for a few minutes.
  2. Add your slice of pizza and let it heat up until the bottom looks crispy.
  3. Then, pour a few drops of water into the pan and cover it with a lid for an additional minute. This will help the cheese get nice and gooey.
  4. Remove the pizza from the pan and serve.
